Cement mortar system for waterproofing

KRAFT HYDROGUARD ELASTIC is a 2-component waterproof, acrylic modified, cement-based, heavy-duty masonry mortar which stops water penetration and prevents water damage while protecting concrete and other masonry surfaces subject to flexural strain. It is applied on both vertical and horizontal surfaces of buildings. It is applied on both vertical and horizontal surfaces of buildings. It can be used on weather exposed roofs, terraces and balconies tanks, concrete surfaces subject to flexural strain.
It has been tested and it is approved for contact with potable water according to C.M.N. Υ2/2600/2001. It meets the requirements defined by ΕΝ 1504-2 for surface protection coating system.

SURFACE PREPARATION
To ensure proper adhesion, the surface must be dry, clean and free of dust, fat, salt, rust, loose paint and residues, blistered paint, etc. Damaged, delaminated or weak concrete must be repaired using KRAFT STRONG REPAIR 84.
» Before applying the mixture the substrate must be wetted with water by spraying.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Pour KRAFT HYDROGUARD ELASTIC (Comp. B) into a suitable mixing container and add KRAFT HYDROGUARD ONE (Comp. A) slowly while mixing with a low-speed electric drill mixer. Mix thoroughly at least for 3-4 minutes, until the proper lump-free consistency is reached.
» Do not add any additional water or other ingredients.
» Each packaging unit must be entirely mixed, to avoid faulty particle size distribution of aggregates contained in the powder component.
» KRAFT HYDROGUARD ELASTIC can be applied by brush, roller or trowel in two coats crosswise to maximum of thickness of 1mm per coat where waterproofing is available.
» In highly stressed areas a special alkali-resistant glass fiber net HYDROGUARD NET (70-80g/m²) shall be placed into the first fresh mortar layer. It shall be well trimmed and fully embedded into the mortar avoiding the formation of voids in the coating.
» Potlife: 45min at 25ºC.
» Dry to recoat: 2-5 hours in favorable weather conditions.
» Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened material can only be mechanically removed.
» Stir well before use and during application.
» Do not apply at temperatures below 10ºC and above 35ºC as well as at relative humidity levels above 80%.
» Do not apply if rain is imminent.
» Avoid application in direct sunlight and/or strong wind.
