One component sealant based on acrylic resins

KRAFT JOINT ACRYLIC 20 is one component plasto-elastic sealant based on acrylic resins with good resistance to UV and weathering. It is especially suitable for sealing joints of materials with absorbent (porous) surface in interior and exterior places, as between windows and sills, window- or door- frames and walls, wall cracks etc. It is suitable for joints without large working width change (up to 8%). It is not suitable for sealing of joints permanently immersed in water (water tanks etc.). It presents excellent adhesion without use of primer on most, even dump substrates such as concrete, brickwork, wood, metal and PVC. It cures fast with the humidity and it is paint-able with water based emulsion paints.

SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION
» The substrate must be free of dust and loose particles. Cleaning by means of a wire-brush and blowing with compressed air, if available, is recommended.
» To avoid the soiling of the joint edges we put self-stick-ing paper tape (masking tape) along the edges. This tape must be removed immediately after sealing (before curing of the sealant).
» Cut tip off cartridge and screw the nozzle onto the cartridge. Cut the tip of nozzle at an angle to achieve the desired bead size. Apply sealant with a caulking gun in a continuous bead to the prepared joint. Smooth down after application before skin formation occurs, by using a flat or rounded tool, or even a finger, dipped in soapy water.
» Cleaning: Immediately after use, wash the tools with hot water and soap or detergent, along with product residues. Once it has cured, cleaning may only be carried out by mechanical means.

PRECAUTIONS
Do not apply at temperatures below 10ºC and above 35ºC.
» Do not apply if rain is imminent.
» Not suitable for continuous exposure to water.
» Not suitable for some plastics such as polyethylene, polypropylene and Teflon and for bituminous substrates.
» Not to be used where high movement accommodations is needed.
