Elastomeric acrylic coating for waterproofing and protection of roofs

A waterborne UV-curing, acrylic elastomeric coating with resistance to substrate alkali migration, excellent adhesion to new, old and pre-painted substrates. It is suitable to be applied on flat and sloped roofs, including concrete, ceramic tiles, masonry and asphalt substrates.
The coating remains highly flexible under low and high-temperature conditions so it can accommodate substrate movements caused by expansion and contraction. It demonstrates excellent resistance to ultraviolet light deterioration, dirt pick-up, and mildew.
This coating is certified as cool coating and it provides an excellent, highly protective barrier which reflects the sun’s heat. In turn, this helps to cool surfaces and leads to a reduction of interior temperatures and improvement to building’s energy efficiency.

SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION
To ensure proper adhesion to the substrate, the surface must be dry, clean and free of dust, oil, salt, rust, loose paint and residues, blistered paint etc. Maximum moisture content should not exceed 15%. Remove all moss, fungi and algae by mechanical abrasion and wash with soapy water and allow the substrate to dry.
» It is recommended that fresh concrete, stucco, plaster and asphalt surfaces are allowed to dry for at least 4 weeks before the application of KRAFT PROFI ROOF.
» Use suitable KRAFT sealant to fill joints and cracks.
» Before applying, make sure the substrate has sufficient inclinations and gutters. Repair the areas of ponding water or other damaged surfaces with suitable repair material of KRAFT. The inclinations should be at least 1.5%-2%.
» On porous substrates (concrete, plaster): Apply one coat of KRAFT ECO DUR AQUA diluted with 80% water and allow to dry.
» On non-porous substrates (tiles, fiberglass, steel): Apply one coat of KRAFT EPOXY AQUA FLOOR PRIMER Transparent undiluted and allow to dry.
» On bituminous substrates: Apply one coat of KRAFT PROFI ROOF diluted with 20% and allow to dry 24 hours.
» Apply the material with roller, brush or airless or air-assisted spray gun crosswise in two coats. Apply the second coat after 12 hours at least.
» At problematic areas apply the material in thicker film. It is recommended to apply on these areas suitable reinforcement or KRAFT HYDROGUARD NET.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
» Tools: Roller, brush or airless or air-assisted spray gun.
» Cleaning: The tools and spillages may be cleaned immediately with soapy water.
» Thinning: If required, dilute only the first coat with a maximum of 5% clean water.
» Dry to Touch: 2-3 hours at 25ºC and 50% relative humidity (drying times are longer at lower temperatures and at higher relative humidity).
» Dry to Recoat: 6 hours under favorable drying conditions.
» Stir well before use and during application.
» Do not apply at temperatures below 5ºC or above 35ºC or at humidity levels above 65%.
» All coats on warm weather conditions are recommended to be applied during the early morning hours, when the surface temperature of the roof is less than 30ºC and not under direct sunlight.
» No foot traffic should be permitted on the coated surface for 48 hours after the application in favorable weather conditions.
» The material is fully cured after 7 days in favorable weather conditions.
» Do not apply if rain is imminent for next 4 days.
