Solvent-based polyurethane primer for absorbing surfaces

KRAFT TOTAL PROOF PU PRIMER is a transparent, solvent based polyurethane primer which cures with ambient humidity and presents excellent adhesion and deep penetration to porous surface, high hardness and abrasion resistance. It is recommended for priming on porous substrates such as concrete, plaster, wood, gypsum boards. It reduces the porosity of the substrate, it dries fast and enhances the adhesion of polyurethane membrane KRAFT TOTAL PROOF PU-S. It can also be used as a coating for binding of old or deteriorated cement-based substrates, and as a barrier coat against grease, oils, moisture, chemical products etc.

SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION
»To ensure proper adhesion to the substrate, the surface must be dry, clean and free of dust, oil, salt, rust, loose paint and residues, blistered paint etc. Maximum moisture content should not exceed 5%. Remove all moss, fungi and algae by mechanical abrasion. Do not wash the surface with water.
» It is recommended that fresh concrete, stucco, plaster and asphalt surfaces are allowed to dry for at least 4 weeks before the application of KRAFT TOTAL PROOF PU PRIMER.
» Use suitable KRAFT sealant to fill joints and gaps.
» Apply the material with roller, brush or airless or air-assisted spray gun crosswise without dilution.
» If the surface is very porous or brittle (lightweight concrete or porous cement screed) apply two layers of the KRAFT TOTAL PROOF PU PRIMER.
» Apply KRAFT TOTAL PROOF PU-S after 2-3 hours and while the surface is still a bit tacky.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
» Tools: Roller, brush, airless or air-assisted spray gun.
» Cleaning: The tools and spillages may be cleaned immediately
with KRAFT NITRO 1100 solvent.
» Thinning: No thinning is required.
» Dry to Touch: 1-2 Hours at 25ºC and 50% relative humidity (drying times are longer at lower temperatures and at higher relative humidity).
» Dry to Recoat: 2-3 hours.
» Stir well KRAFT TOTAL PROOF PU PRIMER before use and during application.
» Do not apply at temperatures below 5ºC or above 35ºC or at humidity levels above 65%.
